SPECIAL REPORT "Fact or Fiction"
BY STEPHEN S. JOHNSON
(IB-DECEMBER 27, 2009) There has been a virtual impasse in the negotiations for what was to have been billed as the "fight of the decade" between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
There seem to be villains on both sides of the table in these bizarre and quite frankly silly attempts to come to a "meeting of the minds" in getting this record breaking financial effort consumated.
Having just fought a tough battle in mid-November against Miguel Cotto, it was understandably a tough decision for Pacquiao to decide the March 13, 2010 date was enough time to both recover and properly train for a match with Mayweather. Compound that with the political aspirations of Pacquiao in early May of 2010 and there was definitely some time needed to evaluate his situation... (more)
SPECIAL REPORT "Enough is Enough"
BY STEPHEN S. JOHNSON

Open your eyes Stephen, Ray Charles can see that the "humble, reserved and gracious" Manny Pacquioa has taken performance enhancing drugs. Have you taken look at the pictures of him at the different weights he has fought at? His body is leaner at 145lbs than it was when he was 20lbs lighter. We all know how that happens. What do you expect him say? His response is the same as all those caught in the web of our win at all cost culture, "I've never taken any performance enhancing drugs" SURE!!! "I did not have sex with that women". RIGHT!!! Wake up, this is the real world, and don't forget we are talking about our beloved boxing. A sport known for questionable ethics. And who really cares? All we want to see is a great fight, and we will.
Being somewhat in the fight biz myself, I know that some people will do anything at anytime to win.
Me, I just worked so hard that failure was not an option. Losing is a large part of winning and some people don’t know how to do either with class.
No accusations, no excuses, let them fight it out and may the best fighter win.
