none other than Miguel "I only want the big fights" Cotto.
none other than Miguel "I only want the big fights" Cotto. These past few days have obviously taken their toll on the new WBA junior middleweight champion as he has been questioned numerous times regarding what path his boxing career will take.
Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO's) who is just 29 years-old, was asked if he had any plans to avenge the brutal beating he took at the hands of the now 32 year-old Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO's). (more)

Cotto looks great and perhaps still has more to offer in the new weight level he just won. Against 2 fighters who beat him, I think he would be much better and tougher fighting them at this level.
I don't think Pacman is avoiding Margarito. I think he is looking for only one important fight and that is against Floyd. Pac is not known for ducking anyone, except it is his choice to fight the one on top of the controversy who is also accusing him left and right. And that what the fans demand. Mind you, I don't think Margarito deserves a chance for major fight compared to other boxers like Berto, Williams, Khan, and Bradley after the cheating he did.
The only fight for Margarito is against Miguel Cotto. Margarito don't deserve a big money fight until he works his way back up the top. Prove he can beat contenders without cheating, then and only then should he get a big money fight. As a mater of fact, Cotto, deny this cheater the opportunity now that the tornado has turned into a cool breeze.
Cotto should fight Margarito again to avenge his last fight with him. This new weight division suits him very well. Actually, it was just twist of fate that Yuri slipped and injured his leg that Cotto was able to outbox him won by TKO. The body shot was the punch that finished Yuri. Cotto definitely learned from his previous big fights so he calls the shots now.
how can you say that manny pacquiao is dropping too many demands... the writer is so biased. we both know that there is a gag order so you have no authority to write something that you have no proof of. afterall, pacquiao deserves to demand. he's the fighter of the decade and the legitimate pound-4-pound king and a superstar all around the world, esp. in asia.
There is no way in hell that Antonio Marga'cheato' deserve a fight against the marquee fighters like Pacquiao, Mayweather, or a rematch with Cotto. At least not until he works his way up the ladder again. One lame-ass fight in Mexico against a no-name guy and then getting a fight against a major name is not exactly fair to others who lose honestly and having to "work their way back up the ladder." I mean this guy could've killed someone in the ring!! You've got former champions like Brian Viloria who loses his belt on a fight he lost fairly, and he has to go from fighting in 15,000+ stadiums in Vegas into starting basically from scratch and getting fights in Swap Meets in L.A. to go to the top again. Cotto doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. As the author might have forgotten he already challenged Margacheato fair and square, so we know he's not afraid of him.
Conclusion: "I therefore conclude that the writer is pro-Margarito and is anti-Pacquiao."
Cotto,Mayweather,Pacquiao will gain almost nothing to fight Margarito.Margarito is the only one who can benefit from the fight between the three boxers.Margarito should just start anew with his career and fight whatever comes his way for now.
Margarito is done. Stick a fork in it already. He need to be a test fighter for up and coming prospects because no except his mama cares anymore.
