(IB-JUNE 25, 2010) The closer contract negotiations between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. seem to be reaching a point where the fight may actually happen, Mayweather, Jr. routinely flexes his muscle.
The now irrelevant Mayweather demanded Olympic-style blood testing debacle, which prevented the first attempts at a fight date scheduling, has been bowed down to by Pacquao and new reports surface that Mayweather, Jr demands a 60/40 purse split for the fight.
Mayweather, Jr. representatives deny involvement in any contract negotiations...PERIOD!
There has to be some sense of legitimacy that reports from both sides seem to be trying to give boxing fans the impression that this fight is of little concern to either Pacquiao or Mayweather, Jr. (more)

CHAVEZ JR.  VS. DUDDY
HOW DO YOU SEE IT? By Laz Izada
(IB-June 24, 2010) - This Saturday night on pay per view from the Alamodome, in San Antonio, Tx. Bob Arum’s Top Rank presents Latin Fury 15. The main event will be a scheduled 12 round middleweight (160Lbs) bout between 24 yr old Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. 41-0-1(30KO’s),
ranked # 1 at Jr. Middleweight (154Lbs) by the WBC. Taking on 31 yr old “Ireland’s” John Duddy 29-1(18KO’s) ranked at Middleweight (160Lbs) by the WBC # 7 and WBO #14.
It will be interesting to see who comes out victorious as it has been said in boxing circles that these guys haven’t faced real convincing competition yet. There string of knockouts has come against inferior opponents. Once they step it up a bit they win by decision, draw, or lose. (more)

(IB) – June 17, 2010 – We all can only hope that the negotiations result in the highly anticipated bout between, Floyd “Money” Mayweather (42-0, 25 KOs) and Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs) for the undisputed Pound-for-Pound championship, finally taking place on November 13th, 2010.
If both sides can get past the hurdles of drug testing, purse splitting, etc, this time, the boxing world and boxing fans will be treated to the biggest and the richest fight in boxing history.  However, it “will not” be the best fight in boxing history.  REASON BEING: The TALENT GAP between Mayweather and Pacquiao is too large to produce a close and competitive fight. "IF THE MONEY'S RIGHT"...

By Stephen S Johnson Photo: Eric Van Dyke/InsideBoxing.com
(IB-June 13, 2010) This quote could easily be attributed to Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Jr. but this time there seems to be a new edition to the "show me the money" gang and that is none other than Miguel "I only want the big fights" Cotto.
These past few days have obviously taken their toll on the new WBA junior middleweight champion as he has been questioned numerous times regarding what path his boxing career will take.
Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO's) who is just 29 years-old, was asked if he had any plans to avenge the brutal beating he took at the hands of the now 32 year-old Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO's). (more)

COTTO'S 1ST TITLE DEFENSE SHOULD COME AGAINST MARGARITO

(IB-JUNE 10, 2010) Newly crowned champion Miguel Cotto said after his defeat of a severely disabled Yuri Foreman that he is "looking for big name fights".
Whether you consider the man, Antonio Margarito, a "big name" or not is irrelevant as Cotto MUST avenge that loss.
The severe beating Cotto took at the hands of Margarito spurred major controversey as Margarito was later found to have illegal hand wraps in his next fight with Shane Mosley.
Mosley then defeated Margarito who was given a 1-year suspension by the California State Athletic Commission after being found guilty of the offense.
Some feel Margarito deserved a much tougher sentence than was handed down, but the fact remains he served his suspension and must now be given the opportunity to redeem himself. (more)
